Don't break morale of veterans on OROP: AAP leader Gul Panag to govt </br><br> Actress and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Gul Panag today alleged that despite Prime Minister Narendra Modi's "light clarification" on the One Rank One Pension issue, there is still ambiguity left over the Voluntary Retirement Scheme (VRS). Gul Panag, daughter of retired Lt Gen HS Panag, appealed to the government to "unconditionally" fulfill OROP promises the way soldiers serve the nation, as she claimed that veterans were actually given "One Rank Five Pension". She was addressing the war veterans, who have been protesting for over 100 days at Jantar Mantar. Panag alleged that the government's Voluntary Retirement Scheme (VRS) is a non-entity as there is nothing voluntary about it. She said that despite the Prime Minister giving light clarification over the issue, there is still ambiguity related to VRS. (PTI) -

U-turn on land bill was a wise move by NDA: K N Govindacharya </br><br> Former BJP general secretary K N Govindacharya endorsed the NDA government's decision to beat a retreat over the controversial Land Acquisition Bill, saying the BJP-led alliance gained by the move. "The government's image has grown taller by bowing down to the public pressure in a democracy," the RSS ideologuesaid. "Merely eight per cent of the industrial projects are stuck for want of land. After realising this, the government took a good step by retreating on the bill," he said to a question. Govindacharya refused to comment on the debate on the need to reconsider the reservations policy. "Reservations are a sensitive and emotional issue. This isn't the right time to comment," he said. BJP hits back at AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal over 'Make India' </br><br> Teh Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) today hit back at Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's veiled dig on Centre's 'Make in India' campaign, saying the AAP leader should first try to get out of "photo frames" and "jhadoo drama", and then talk of realities of the country. "Man like Arvind Kejriwal, who does drama with jhadoo (brooms) and are stuck inside photo frames of hoardings, should try getting out of that phase first, and then they can criticise about what the reality is," Union Culture Minister Mahesh Sharma said. He was speaking to reporters on the sidelines of 'Paryatan Bhawan' foundation-laying ceremony here. "I changed my profile picture to support Digital India, the Indian government's effort to connect rural communities to the internet and give people access to more services online," he wrote on his facebook page. Snapdeal launches SD Advisor Programme to assist sellers </br><br> Online marketplace major Snapdeal has launched its SD Advisor Programme, under which its two lakh sellers will get a personal advisor to assist them in business management on the platform. The programme, part of Snapdeal's USD 200 million investment for building the digital ecosystem for small and medium businesses (SMBs) in India, will provide free customised and multimodal training to sellers. "The programme has been launched to build personalised partnerships with our existing and potential sellers, understand their business and offer customised advice depending on the various stages of their business life-cycle," Snapdeal Senior Vice President (Market Development) Vishal Chadha said.
