Will court arrest if any saint would be arrested: BJP leaders </br><br> BJP leaders today warned the Uttar Pradesh government against arresting any saint in connection with Monday's violence in the city, claiming police have "falsely implicated" them in the FIR. If police would arrest any saint in connection with the violence, then the partymen would court their arrest, they said. BJP MLC Laxman Acharya and MLAs Shyam Deo Roy Chaudhary and Jyotsana Srivastava along with party's media in-charge Sanjay Bhardwaj in a joint press conference alleged that the saints who were taking out a protest march 'Pratikar Yatra' on October 5 from Townhall to Dashashwmedh ghat have been "falsely implicated in the FIR lodged by UP police". The Gujarat High Court today quashed state government's ordinance notifying 10 per cent quota for economically backward class among the unreserved category. It is a setback to the Gujarat Government which had annouced the reservation to placate the agitating Patel community. (PTI)

"Umesh Patel, aged around 34, allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself with the ceiling of his factory in Vavadi area,” police said. Police have recovered a suicide note in which he clearly mentioned that he took the extreme step in support of the Patel reservation agitation. "I seek apology from all my brothers from the Patidar (Patel community) because I could not remain with you in this agitation. My sacrifice should not go into vain," he states the note. Before killing himself, Patel also sent a similar message on 'Whatsapp'. Sinha, a former External Affairs Minister, said India could have taken a path different from the G+4 and need not have pursued the grouping with the "vigour" with which it is doing now. Modi made a "mistake" by continuing with UPA's strategy of relying on G-4, Sinha said adding that it was one thing to align with developing countries and another to include two developed countries – Germany and Japan–in this group. (PTI) (26/09/2015) Haj stampede: Death toll of Indians killed rises to 22 </br><br> The death toll of Indian pilgrims in the horrific stampede during Haj rose to 22 today as Saudi Arabia grappled to come to terms with the horrific tragedy that has claimed 769 lives. "The number of Indian lives lost in Haj stampede has now risen to 22. Some more bodies are to be identified," External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj tweeted tonight. "We are facilitating visits of relatives of missing pilgrims and tour operators to the complex for identification," she said. Internet banned extended in Jammu & Kashmir till Sunday </br><br> Jammu and Kashmir Government today extended the two-day ban on Internet services till tomorrow, saying it apprehended misuse by anti-social elements to create communal tension. Inspector General of Police of Kashmir as well as Jammu region wrote a letter to all service providers to continue termination of data services till 2 AM tomorrow, official sources said. The directive by police to all service providers, which came on the eve of Eid, comes amidst the controversy over beef ban. In the order, the service providers were directed to snap all data services. The ban, which was to end at 10 PM today, has been imposed on Internet so that no videos are uploaded and social networking sites are not accessible.(PTI) (26/09/2015)
