US magazine Forbes released a list of the ten most powerful people in the world. According to the list, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, US President Donald Trump, and Chinese President Xi Jinping were among the most powerful people of the world. However, an interesting thing to note is Trump is not the most powerful man despite being the first citizen of the United States. He was named the world's most powerful person in 2016. Check who is number one in the list:
10- Larry Page: Larry Page is the founder of Alphabet Inc, the parent company of Google. He founded Google in 1998 with fellow Stanford PhD student Sergey Brin. Along with Brin, Page invented Google's PageRank algorithm, which powers the search engine.
9- Narendra Modi: The Prime Minister of India has elevated his profile as a global leader and emerged as a key figure in international efforts to tackle climate change.
8- Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud: The crown prince of Saudi Arabia led an 'anti-corruption campaign' that caused many prominent Saudis to be arrested and forced to turn over their fortunes. The result of the campaign was that ten Saudi billionaires were dropped from Forbes' world's billionaires list.
7- Bill Gates: Along with wife Melinda Gates, Bill Gates heads the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation which is the world's largest private charitable foundation. The foundation works to save lives and improve global health, and is working with Rotary International to eliminate polio.
6- Pope Francis: The spiritual leader of more than one-sixth of the world's population, Pope Francis is probably the most unorthodox Pope to ever exist. He has made it his personal mission to transform the longstanding conservative image of the Catholic Church. Even in November 2016, he gave priests the power to forgive women who undergo abortions.
5- Jeff Bezos: The chief of Amazon, Bezos is the first man to top $100 billion and become the richest man in the world. He owns He owns 16 percent of Amazon, which he founded in a garage in Seattle in 1994.
4- Angela Merkel: The de facto leader of Europe and Angela Merkel won a hard-fount election that saw Alternative for Germany party win the election for the fourth time.
3- Donald Trump: The first billionaire President of the United States, is shockingly placed third on the list.
2- Vladimir Putin: Voted the world's most powerful person four times between 2013 and 2016, Russia's president has exerted his country's influence around the world.
1- Xi Jinping: The leader of the world's most populated country . and second largest economy, Xi Jinping's power was extended after China's parliament amended its constitution and scrapped term limits set for Presidency
