Maintain decorum on Maggi row: PM to Consumer Affairs Ministry</br><br>Prime Minister Narendra Modi has advised maintaining decorum on the Maggi row till all facts come to light, Food and Consumer Affairs Minister Ram Vilas Paswan said on Thursday, as the government does not want to hurt investment flow. "Day before yesterday, the Prime Minister had said whatever people say, we should maintain decorum on this issue (Maggi). Until we get the fact findings done, there is no need to create unnecessary noise," Paswan said while sharing about the Maggi row at an Assocham event here. (PTI)

CNG-run vehicles emit dangerous nano carbon: CSIR study </br><br> The natural gas (CNG)-run buses are harmful for humans as they emit 'nano carbon' particles which can cause cancer, according to a study conducted by Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR). Though the study was conducted on a very limited sample size in Delhi, CSIR took the findings seriously owing to the health hazard it poses to humans and alerted the Central government for further follow up, CSIR's Director General Dr M O Garg said today. Bharti Airtel launches pan-India 4G services </br><br> Bharti Airtel today announced the commercial launch of 4G services in 296 towns across India after testing the market in select cities."Now, customers across the country will be able to experience high speed wireless broadband on Airtel 4G and get on to the digital superhighway to enjoy uninterrupted HD video streaming, superfast uploading and downloading of movies, music and images. "Airtel customers can enjoy 4G at 3G data prices with packs starting at Rs 25. In addition, with every 4G SIM swap, Airtel is offering six months of unlimited music streaming and downloads on 'Wynk Music' and five free movies per month for six months on the Eros Now channel of 'Wynk Movies'," the company said. Keventers raided by taxman, Rs 5 lakh fine imposed</br><br> Delhi government's Trade and Taxes department raided and slapped a fine of Rs 5 lakh on the owner of Keventers, a popular eatery in Connaught Place for allegedly evading tax by not revealing his actual daily sales. The officials raided the eatery, which is well-known for its milkshakes, after two-day recce using spy camera and magic eye in order to adduce actual sales of the dealer. A team of the department was sent for a detailed survey yesterday at around 2 PM in which cash of Rs 10,62,700 was found in cash counter of the shop. "As per the returns filed, the dealer was showing sales of around Rs 25,000 per day whereas during 5-6 hours of survey, dealer made a sale of Rs 60,500," official said, adding the cash amount found was 40 times of the daily sales reported. Nomura pegs GDP growth at 8% in FY16; Sensex at 33,500 by Dec</br><br> Maintaining a bullish stance on the Indian economy, Japanese brokerage Nomura today projected a 8 per cent GDP growth for the current fiscal year while retaining its Sensex target at 33,500 by December. "We are of the view that India is in the initial stages of business cycle recovery," Nomura India Chief Economist Sonal Varma told reporters here. "We are expecting growth at around 8 per cent in FY16 versus 7.3 per cent in FY15," she added. Government forecast GDP to grow at 7.8 per cent in FY16, while RBI pegs it at 7.6 per cent. (Reuters)

Maruti Suzuki aims to sell up to 5,000 units of S-Cross every month </br><br> Maruti Suzuki, which looks to claw at the dominance of SUV leaders Renault Duster and Ford EcoSport, expects to sell 4,000-5000 units of its maiden crossover SUV, the S-Cross, every month. "We have set an internal target of selling 4,000 to 5,000 units of S-Cross a month, and capacity can be ramped up or down depending on demand," Executive Director and Head of Marketing and Sales, T Hashimoto said here – Maruti S-Cross is priced at Rs 8.8 lakh to Rs 14.5 lakh. The all diesel S-Cross comes in seven variants. The company said it has no plans to roll out a petrol variant nor an automatic transmission model. (PTI)

Gold crashes below Rs 25,000 to hit over 4-year lows </br><br> Continuing its slide for the fourth consecutive day, gold prices today dipped below Rs 25,000 by losing Rs 40 to trade at over four-year lows of Rs 24,980 per 10 grams at the domestic bullion market. Moreover, the precious metal was trading at five-year lows in the global market.
