SBI has come out with a new app which enables you to perform basic banking activities through its official social media pages.

Are you an SBI customer? Here’s some good news for you. In view of the growing popularity of social media as well as to take its customers to a whole new world of banking, the State Bank of India – India’s largest bank — has come out with a new app, called SBI Mingle, which is your companion for easy banking with all your social media friends and contacts. State Bank Mingle, in fact, is the social banking application of SBI which enables you to perform basic banking activities through its official social media pages. Here’s we are taking a look at how you can perform basic banking activities through SBI’s official Facebook page.

# Easy Pay: Transfer money to FB friends and contacts anytime, anywhere without the hassles of account numbers and codes.

Split and share: Now you can plan events with your friends and divide the expenses with easy options to pay up.

Merchant Pay: Discover the merchants around who take Mingle payment and make easy payments.

Availability

SBI Mingle is now avaliable for iOS and Android.

How to get started

To get started, you need to access SBI Mingle from the Official SBI Facebook Page. Once the access to the page is established, you need to register and then Sign in.

Sign in

You will need to enter Password every time to access the application. As of now your can perform the following transactions:

1. View Balance

Now you don’t need to disconnect from social media to find your account balance. Once your register for SBI Mingle, you can check your last ‘clear’ balance.

Steps for viewing Balance:

# Login into Facebook.

# Open SBI Mingle Application from SBI Official Facebook page.

# Login with your Application Password.

# Click on “view Balance” menu.

# Balance for the corresponding account is shown in place of “Click here to view Balance” link.

2. Mini-Statement

You can get the Mini Statement, i.e. last 10 transactions on the account.

Steps for viewing Mini-Statement:

# Login into Facebook.

# Open SBI Mingle Application from SBI Official Facebook page.

# Login with your Application Password .

# Click on “view Mini-Statement” menu.

# Details (Transaction Date, Details, Dr., Cr. and Balance) of last 10 transactions for the corresponding account is shown on the screen with an option to go back.

3. Manage Beneficiary

You can add, modify, fetch and delete your beneficiaries for Money Transfer through SBI Mingle Application. This feature will mandatorily require your mobile number to be registered with SBI.

Steps for Manage Beneficiary:

# Login into Facebook.

# Open SBI Mingle Application from SBI Official Facebook page.

# Login with your Application Password .

# Click on “Manage Beneficiary” menu.

# All your beneficiaries added through various channels will be visible in a tabular format.

# You can modify and delete your beneficiaries from this menu.

4. Funds Transfer

You can transfer funds from your SBI account to other accounts in SBI or any other bank using State Bank Mingle. The transaction limit for per transaction and per day for a user is Rs 5000. The per day transaction limit is cumulative of all transfer transactions to own accounts, other SBI and other bank accounts for the Mingle User. This feature will mandatorily require your mobile number to be registered with SBI.

Steps for Funds Transfer:

# Login into Facebook.

# Open SBI Mingle Application from SBI Official Facebook page.

# Login with your Application Password .

# Click on “Money Transfer” menu.

# You can choose the appropriate transfer options from Own accounts, Other SBI and Other Bank accounts as per beneficiary available.

# In case of a new beneficiary, you can add the same though this screen.

5. Block ATM Debit Card

You can block your ATM Debit card instantly through SBI Mingle on Facebook in case it is lost, stolen or damaged.

Steps for Block ATM Debit Card:

# Login into Facebook.

# Open SBI Mingle Application from SBI Official Facebook page.

# Login with your Application Password .

# Click on “Block Debit/ATM Card” menu.

# Once you select your desired account, system will show list of ATM Cards atached to it.

# You can block the card from this menu.

6. Details of Block ATM Debit Card

You can block your ATM Debit card instantly through SBI Mingle on Facebook in case it is lost, stolen or damaged.

Steps for Block ATM Debit Card:

# Login into Facebook.

# Open SBI Mingle Application from SBI Official Facebook page.

# Login with your Application Password .

# Click on “Block Debit/ATM Card” menu.

# Once you select your desired account, system will show list of ATM Cards attached to it.

# You can block the card from this menu.

7. Cheque Books

You can perform cheque book services like Request a chequebook, Stop a cheque payment instantly through SBI Mingle on Facebook.

Steps for Cheque Book Management:

# Login into Facebook.

# Open SBI Mingle Application from SBI Official Facebook page.

# Login with your Application Password .

# Click on “Cheque Book Management” menu.

# Select the option “Request Cheque Book” .

# You can select account, no of cheque leaves and request your chequebook.

# This will be delivered to your registered address by post or collect from your home branch.

# Select the option “Stop Cheque Request”.

# You can select account, enter cheque number and submit your stop cheque payment request.

8. Nearest Branch and ATM

You can search the nearest SBI branch and ATM through SBI Mingle on Facebook.

Steps for viewing Nearest SBI Branch and SBI ATM:

# Login into Facebook.

# Open SBI Mingle Application from SBI Official Facebook page.

# Login with your Application Password .

# Click on “Search Nearest Branch” menu.

# Click on “Search Nearest ATM” menu.

# This will give you the reference link on SBI official site.

9. SMS Alert Registration

You can register SMS Alert service instantly through SBI Mingle on Facebook.

Steps for SMS Alert Registration:

# Login into Facebook.

# Open SBI Mingle Application from SBI Official Facebook page.

# Login with your Application Password.

# Click on “SMS Alert Registration” menu.

# You can select account and submit to change your SMS options.

# This will display the current options activated on the account.

# Select the options as per your need and submit.

# It will update accordingly in your SBI account.

10. P2P Money Transfer

SBI Mingle allows you to redeem money into your bank account or send to your Facebook friend through P2P Money Transfer on Facebook.

Steps for P2P Money Transfer:

# Login into Facebook.

# Open SBI Mingle Application from SBI Official Facebook page.

# Login with your Application Password.

# Click on “P2P Money Transfer” menu.

# Check for notification if any user has sent you money.

# You can redeem the money into your SBI or other Bank account.

# You can send money to your Facebook contact from the friend list.

# The secret code to be shared with the friend only via secured communication.

# This code will be used by your friend to redeem the money.
