Modi govt approves performance, non-performance-linked bonus for 30 lakh Central Government Employees

Union Cabinet led by PM Narendra Modi today approved productivity linked bonus and non-productivity Linked Bonus for 2019-2020. More than 30 lakh non-gazetted Central Government Employees and employees of Central Government’s commercial establishments will be benefited by the bonus announcement and total financial implication will be Rs 3,737 crores, Union Minister Prakash Javadekar said today.

Javadekar also said that the bonus will be given in a single instalment, through Direct Benefit Transfer, before Vijayadashami (Dussehra).

Who will get Bonus?

As per the official Cabinet statement, the Central government has given its approval to pay Productivity Linked Bonus (PLB) for the year 2019-2020 to 16.97 lakh non-gazetted employees of Central government’s commercial establishments like Railways, Posts, Defence, EPFO, ESIC,etc. The financial implication for this would be be Rs.2,791 crore.

Non-PLB or ad-hoc Bonus has been approved for provided to to Non-Gazetted Central Government employees. As many as 13.70 lakh employees would be benefited and Rs.946 crore will be the financial implication for the same.
