EPFO has introduced a new facility for its members having Universal Account Number and other relevant details to link their respective UAN with Aadhaar online.
The Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) – on the eve of Deepawali – introduced a new facility for its members having Universal Account Number (UAN) and other relevant details to link their respective UAN with Aadhaar online. This would help the members get better and speedy EPFO services.
The facility has been made available at EPFO’s website www.epfindia.gov.in >> Online Services >> e-KYC Portal>> LINK UAN AADHAAR.
Using the facility, the EPFO members can link their respective UAN with Aadhaar online. While using the facility, the member will have to provide his/her UAN. An OTP will be sent to his/her mobile linked with UAN. After OTP verification, the member will have to provide his/her Aadhaar Number. Another OTP will be sent to his/her mobile/ email-linked with Aadhaar. After OTP verification, if UAN details are matched with Aadhaar details, then UAN will be linked with Aadhaar. After linking, the EPFO member may avail online EPFO services linked with Aadhaar.
It may be noted that just a few days back, private provident fund trusts had been directed by EPFO to declare interest at par or more than the EPFO, and if there is any deficiency in the interest declared, that should be made good by the employer maintaining such trusts. Also, 100 points will be given if the trust has declared interest at par or more than the EPFO and for declaration of less interest, points will be deducted proportionately.
This was communicated by the EPFO to the employers maintaining private provident fund trusts, recently. The PF office had to issue compliance guidelines for such employers as it noticed that more than 700 employers maintaining private provident fund trusts have not filed the online return for the month of July 2017.
