Shares of about 12 small-cap companies jumped 20% each in the trading session on Monday as the benchmark Sensex finished at 34,300.47, up by 294.71 points. Indian equity markets saw a healthy recovery in almost all the sectors on Monday after a\u00a0depressed session in the last six sessions led by the global sell-off and worries over LTCG on equity over Rs 1 lakh being taxed at 10%. Earlier on Friday last week, Indian stock markets closed on a\u00a0negative note with Sensex losing as much as\u00a0losing as much as 1,493 points in last six days and Nifty hitting a low of 2018.\u00a0During the three-day sell-off, from 2 to 6 February 2018, a heavy jolt was observed in Indian stock markets as about 1,710 points were washed away from the 30-share barometer Sensex including a massive intraday slump of 1,274 points on Tuesday (6 February 2018). Today, domestic markets took a breather from sinking following the sharp recovery in the major US indices and positive cues from European markets. Shares of\u00a0Chembond Chemicals gained\u00a020% to Rs\u00a0306.05,\u00a0Competent Automobiles Co surged 20% to Rs\u00a0310.55,\u00a0Aptech rose 20% to Rs\u00a0330.3,\u00a0Kilitch Drugs (India) advanced 20% to Rs\u00a098.75,\u00a0Hariyana Ship Breakers soared 20% to Rs\u00a0104.5, Lambodhara Textiles zoomed 20% to Rs\u00a072.1 and\u00a0Agri-Tech (India) rose 20% to Rs\u00a0167.3. Other major gainers were, Dynamic Cables up 20% at Rs 63.1,\u00a0Crescent Leasing up 19.92% at Rs\u00a063.8,\u00a0Focus Suites Solutions & Services up 19.91% at Rs\u00a025.9,\u00a0Sumedha Fiscal Services up 19.9% at Rs 50 and\u00a0P B Films up 19.88% at Rs 2.05. Meanwhile\u00a0today, shares of heavyweight companies such as HDFC twins, RIL drove Sensex to log a 295-point gain with Nifty ending\u00a0near 10,500 while shares of\u00a0Tata\u00a0Steel and Bank of Baroda rose up to 9%. The S&P\u00a0BSE Sensex\u00a0gained\u00a0294.71 points or 0.87% to finish at\u00a034,300.47 and NSE Nifty\u00a0jumped\u00a084.8 points or 0.81% to conclude at 10,539.75.\u00a0Shares of Tata Steel, Bank of Baroda, Marico, Bajaj Finserv, PNB, Power Grid, Yes Bank, IndusInd Bank, UPL and BHEL advanced\u00a02-9%. A market-wide recovery was seen in the Indian equities as all the broader indices and nine sectoral indices settled in green. Among the A group of shares\u00a0on BSE, stocks of L&T Technology Services, Shipping Corporation of India emerged as the top gainers surging 10-12% while the stock of Fortis Healthcare, Hexaware Technologies lost 3-6%.
