Share price of Tata Motors (DVR) surged as much as 7 per cent in the early trade on Tuesday after the announcement by the National Stock Exchange (NSE) that shares of Tata Motors (DVR) will be included in Nifty 50 index with effect from April 1.
At 9.36 am, shares of Tata Motors (DVR) were trading 4.37 per cent up at Rs 252.05. The scrip opened at Rs 256.20 and has touched a high and low of Rs 258.20 and Rs 250.70, respectively, in trade so far. Later, the share price of the company closed 2.19 per cent up at Rs 246.80.
Other than Tata Motors (DVR), Aurobindo Pharma, Bharti Infratel and Eicher Motors will also be included in the index. With inclusion of Tata Motors (DVR), the Nifty 50 index shall have 51 securities.
Aurobindo Pharma, Bharti Infratel and Eicher Motors shares were trading up by 1.08 per cent, 0.87 per cent and 0.07 per cent, respectively, in the early trade.
On the other hand, Cairn India, Punjab National Bank and Vedanta will be dropped from the National Stock Exchange’s Nifty 50 index with effect from April 1.
Shares of Cairn India and Punjab National Bank were trading down by 0.04 per cent and 2.97 per cent. However, Vedanta shares were trading 0.81 per cent higher at Rs 74.70 in the early trade.
