Stocks markets that started on a strong note on Tuesday ended the day flat.The 30-share index that soared over 150 points in morning trade lost momentum to hit the day’s low of 29,804.72 and finally ending the day at 29,921.18, up 2.78 points, or 0.01 per cent. The NSE Nifty shuttled between 9,352.55 and 9,269.90, before ending 9.75 points, or 0.10 per cent higher at 9,313.80.
However, there were 114 stocks that touched 52-week high on NSE in Tuesday’s trade. Apollo Tyres, Britannia Industries, Chambal Fertilizers & Chemicals, Dewan Housing Finance Corporation, The Federal Bank, Gujarat Narmada Valley Fertilizers and Chemicals, Indiabulls Housing Finance , ITD Cementation India and Maruti Suzuki India were among the stocks that touched their 52-week high on NSE.
Domestic stock markets were closed on Monday on account of Maharashtra Day. “After an extended weekend, trading began slightly higher citing to positive cues from the Asian bourses. However, immediately post the opening hour, we witnessed a sharp corrective move to test the 9270 mark. As expected, the Nifty rebounded from this intraday support zone and eventually closed with minor gains beyond the 9300 mark,” Angel Broking said after market hours.
Among other stocks that touched their 52-week high on NSE were JK Tyre & Industries, The Western India Plywoods, Union Bank of India, V-Guard Industries, Sunteck Realty, Supreme Industries, Rajesh Exports, Precision Wires India, Khaitan (India), KEI Industries, The Karnataka Bank, HMT, Dena Bank and APL Apollo Tubes.
However, Abbott India, Aurobindo Pharma, GlaxoSmithKline Pharmaceuticals, Shree Ganesh Jewellery House, Signet Industries, Alchemist, Abbott India, TTK Healthcare, VKS Project, Sudar Industries and Shree Ganesh Jewellery House were among the stocks that hit their 52-week low on NSE.
