The BSE Sensex and Nifty opened on a flat note on Monday morning tracking global cues. At 9.23 am, Sensex was trading 121.95 points up at 28,358.34. Similarly, Nifty was up 24.65 points at 8,589.25 during the same time.

Sensex and NSE Nifty opened 14.39 points and 12.40 points higher at 28,250.78 and 8,577, respectively.

Below are the stocks that are likely to be in focus today:

Tata Motors: Stocks of the country’s largest automobile firm by revenues will be in focus as it said on Friday that company’s consolidated net profit during the April-June quarter fell 48.7% year-on-year to Rs 2,769 crore on the back of a dismal performance of its luxury car arm Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) due to the slowdown in the Chinese economy. This was the fourth consecutive quarterly fall in the company’s net profit. The shares of the company were trading down 0.88 per cent at Rs 389.10 in early trade.

Mukta Arts: The world’s largest contract manufacturer of electronic gadgets Foxconn Technology may pick up a stake either in listed Mukta Arts or one of its arms, as the Taiwanese firm seeks to branch out beyond its established forte of hardware products. The shares of the company were up 20 per cent at Rs 41.10 in early trade.

Nalco: National Aluminium Co Ltd (NALCO) wants to set up an aluminium smelter and an associated power plant in Iran worth as much as $2.6 billion once sanctions against the country start to be lifted. The shares of the company were up 1.17 per cent at Rs 38.95 in early trade.

NMDC: Country’s top iron ore miner NMDC may soon secure 3,000-acre land in Jharkhand’s West Singhbhum district for its proposed 6 million tonne steel plant. NMDC signed an MoU in June with the Jharkhand government for setting up an Integrated Steel Plant, through the Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) route. The shares of the company were trading 0.58 per cent up at Rs 104.65 in early trade.

Adani Ports: The stocks of the companies will be in focus as it will announce its first quarterly results today. The shares were trading down 0.43 per cent at Rs 338.25 in early trade.

Vedanta: The stocks of the company will be in focus as the company informed the BSE during the early trade that it has received relevant consent, license and approvals to commence the iron-ore mining operations in Goa for some of its leases. The shares of the company were up 0.08 per cent at Rs 129.55 in early trade.

Companies like SICAL Logistics, Allcargo, Chambal Fertisers & Chemicals, Tube Investment, RCF, TIIL, Pitti Laminations, Pantaloons Fashion & Retail, Radico, Jindal Photo, J&K Bank, India Glyco, HDIL, Fincables, Allcargo, Eclerx, Alphageo, Gujarat Mineral Development Corporation and Alkali Metals may announce their eanings on Monday.
