The BSE Sensex on Monday gained over 246 points to close at 25,856.70 — a two-week high — on back of a further contraction in WPI numbers for August and better-than-expected IIP for July.

Just Dial: Shares of local search engine closed over 13 per cent up on Monday after the company informed stock exchanges that it has launched its latest Android App ‘Search Plus’ on the Google Play Store for users.

JK Tyre and Kesoram: Shares of Kesoram Industries and JK Tyres stood in focus on Monday after companies informed stock exchanges that JK Tyre has signed a binding term sheet with Kesoram Industries to acquire its tyre manufacturing unit at Haridwar (Cavendish Industries). Kesoram Industries closed 1.37 per cent up at Rs 103.80 while JK Tyre plunged 3.46 per cent at Rs 104.70.

Amtek Auto: Amtek Auto shares surged over 13 per cent on Monday after the company informed BSE that it is considering various means to de-leverage the balance sheet. The share price of the company closed 13.06 per cent up at Rs 52.80.

Greaves Cotton: Company’s shares jumped as much as 6.31 per cent on Monday after it informed BSE that it has launched new range of farm equipment products under its ‘Sampurna Swadeshi’ programme at their manufacturing plant in Gummidipoondi near Chennai. The scrip closed 1.49 per cent up at Rs 135.95.
