The BSE Sensex edged up for the fifth consecutive session on Tuesday as the market benchmark Sensex rose by 147.33 points to 26,932.88 on sustained foreign fund inflows amid prospects of a delay in the US Fed rate hike.  NSE Nifty closed 33.60 points or 0.41 per cent higher at 8,152.90.

Coal India and NTPC: The stocks of the companies were be in focus as Credit Suisse upgraded their stocks to to “outperform” from “neutral” on power distributors’ restructuring. Coal India shares closed 4.02 per cent up at Rs 342.75. Share price of NTPC closed 1.30 per cent down at Rs 125.75.

Sun Pharma: Cipher Pharma Inc, along with partners Ranbaxy – a Sun Pharma firm – and Galephar Pharmaceutical Research, has entered into a patent litigation settlement with Actavis over generic version of Absorica, a drug used to treat acne.

Indian Overseas Bank: Shares of Indian Overseas Bank closed 0.27 per cent down at Rs 37.25 after RBI announcing restrictions on the firm and taking “prompt corrective action” with the view to improve internal processes to deal with mounting non-performing assets.

Wockhardt: Shares of drug firm Wockhardt surged 3 per cent after the company said the UK health regulator MHRA has completed inspection of its plant at Chikalthana in Maharashtra without issuing any critical observations on the facility.  The stock ended the day at Rs 1,586.20, up 2.92 per cent on BSE. During the day, it gained 4.11 per cent to Rs 1,604.50.

Gujarat NRE Coke: Shares of Gujarat NRE Coke surged almost 20 per cent after the company said its board has approved the sale of its wind mill business for Rs 218.75 crore.The stock zoomed 19.75 per cent to settle at Rs 3.76 — its upper circuit limit — on BSE.
