The BSE Sensex and NSE Nifty closed higher on Wednesday on the back of buying in blue-chip stocks amid mixed global cues. Sensex advanced 69.73 points to end at 28,059.94, while NSE Nifty closed 17.70 points up at 8,650.30.

Aurobindo Pharma: Stocks of the drug company ended 6.96 per cent up at Rs 787.55 after it posted 23.81 per cent increase in consolidated net profit to Rs 584.96 crore for the first quarter ended June 30, 2016 as compared to Rs 472.45 crore.
Engineers India: Stocks of the company settled 8.33 per cent up at Rs 251. after it registered 50.07 per cent growth in its net profit at Rs 80.30 crore for the quarter as compared to Rs 53.51 crore for the same quarter in the previous year.
Idea Cellular: After rising over 7 per cent on Tuesday following reports of merger talk with Vodafone, Idea Cellular fell 2.58 per cent at Rs 98.20 on Wednesday after it issued a clarification and said that the news is untrue and presposterous.
Majesco: Share price of the company ended 7.15 per cent up at Rs 519.30 after the company announced a strategic partnership with Elafris, Inc., a supplier of an artificial intelligence powered chatbot messaging platform. Elafris has joined the Majesco Partner EcoSystem to enhance insurers’ customer communication and payment experience.
NTPC: Share price of the company ended 1.54 per cent up at Rs 161.25 after it decided to raise up to Rs 15,000 crore through issuance of debentures or bonds on private placement basis.
Hindustan Petroleum Corp Ltd (HPCL) and GAIL: Stocks of the HPCL ended 1.85 per cent up at Rs 1171.20, while Gail India closed 0.35 per cent down at Rs 365.75 after it said it will divest up to 50 per cent stake in the Rs 30,000 crore petrochemical plant which is being set up in Andhra Pradesh.
Welspun India: Stocks of the textile company hit its fresh 52-week low for third straight day by falling 9.95 per cent at Rs 59.30 (9.31 am) as the fallout from Target Corp’s decision to terminate business with the firm for passing off cheap sheets as premium Egyptian cotton escalated.
Jubilant Life Sciences: Stocks of the company ended 0.49 per cent up at Rs 507.05 after it received Abbreviated New Drug Application (ANDA) final approval for Telmisartan Tablets, USP 20,40 and 80mg, the generic version of Micardis Tablets of Boehringer Ingelheim Pharmaceuticals Inc., which is used for the treatment of hypertension.

InterGlobe Aviation: Shares of the company ended 1.95 per cent down at Rs 878.50 after reports that Tigerair will take back 11 jet subleased to IndiGo. However, IndiGo CEO, Aditya Ghosh later clarified that the information related to Tigerair taking back leased planes is completely false.
