Nifty 50, Sensex at close: The domestic equity market ended lower on Tueday, with benchmark indices slipping. The Sensex declined 104.35 points, or 0.13%, to close at 78,180.72, while the Nifty fell 31.65 points, or 0.13%, to settle at 24,398.70.

Among the top gainers on the Sensex 30 pack were HCLTech, which climbed 3.08%, followed by Tech Mahindra (2.81%), Infosys (2.74%), Titan (2.33%), and Eternal (2.08%). On the downside, Trent was the biggest loser, plunging 12.65%, while BEL fell 1.70%, Adani Ports declined 1.63%, Larsen & Toubro slipped 1.26%, and Reliance Industries lost 1.20%.

Nifty 50, Sensex at 3:00 PM: In late trade, the domestic equity benchmarks are trading marginally lower, with the Sensex slipping 35.78 points, or 0.05%, to 78,249.29, while the Nifty fell 19.85 points, or 0.08%, to 24,410.50.

Nifty 50, Sensex at 2:15 PM: At this hour, the domestic equity market was trading largely flat, with the Sensex up 91.81 points, or 0.12%, at 78,376.88, while the Nifty gained 27.35 points, or 0.11%, to trade at 24,457.70.

Among the top gainers on the Nifty were Infosys, which rose 3.44%, followed by HCLTech (3.30%), Tech Mahindra (3.24%), Titan (2.84%), and TCS (2.50%).

On the losing side, Trent emerged as the biggest laggard, plunging 11.74%, followed by BEL (-1.29%), Larsen & Toubro (-1.23%), ICICI Bank (-0.85%), and Tata Steel (-0.79%).

Nifty 50, Sensex at 1:15 PM: At this hour, the benchmark indices have erased their early gains and are trading largely flat, with the Sensex down 1.17 points at 78,283.90 and the Nifty slipping 5.55 points, or 0.02%, to 24,424.80.

Top losers at this hour: Trent plunged 12.32%, followed by Bharat Electronics (BEL) (-1.46%), Larsen & Toubro (L&T) (-1.31%), Asian Paints (-0.91%), and Tata Steel (-0.84%).

Nifty 50, Sensex at 12:15 PM: At this hour, the Indian stock market was trading in positive territory, with the Sensex up 341.39 points, or 0.44%, at 78,626.46, while the Nifty gained 87.70 points, or 0.36%, to trade at 24,518.05.

Infosys, Tech Mahindra, HCL Technologies, Titan and Eternal were among the top gainers, whereas Trent, Bharat Electronics, Larsen & Toubro, Asian Paints and Reliance Industries were the major laggards.

Nifty 50, Sensex at 10:30 AM: The domestic equity indices extended gains an hour after opening today’s trade. The Nifty 50 was up 68 points or 0.28% to trade at 24,498.65, while the BSE Sensex advanced 255 points or 0.33% to trade at 78,540.

The markets were led by heavyweight IT stocks, with Nifty IT rising the most among the sectoral indices, up 2.52%. The Nifty Realty traded at the lowest among them all.

Infosys was the top gainer in the Nifty 50, climbing more than 3%. It was followed by Titan, TCS, Tech Mahindra, SBI Life Insurance, and many others.

Nifty 50, Sensex today at open: Indian equity indices opened Tuesday’s trade on a higher note. The Nifty 50 surged 17 points or 0.07% opened the trade at 24,447, while the BSE Sensex opened 128.78 points or 0.16% higher at 78,413.85.

However, the share price of Trent tanked 10% as soon as the market opened after it reported its business update for the first quarter of the current financial year.

Share market today ahead of opening, July 07: The global markets are trading mostly on a mixed note as investors bet on chip-making stocks. Crude oil prices have inched higher and are trading near the $72 a barrel mark. Meanwhile, the GIFT Nifty is indicating a higher start for Indian markets, up 76 points or 0.31%.

Earlier on Monday, the Nifty 50 closed the session 95.15 points or 0.39% higher at 24,270.85, while the BSE Sensex surged 261.79 points or 0.34% to close at 77,763.91.

Asian Markets

Asia-Pacific markets opened Tuesday’s trade on a lower note, breaking ranks with Wall Street, with South Korea’s Kospi leading the decline, sliding 3.60%. Japan’s Nikkei 225 was down 0.48%, though the Topix added 0.27%. Futures for Hong Kong’s Hang Seng index last traded at 23,571, lower than the index’s close of 23,616.32.

US indices

US stock futures tied to benchmarks are trading lower on Tuesday after a strong trade overnight. Futures tied to the Dow Jones Industrial Average index added 34 points, or less than 0.1%. S&P 500 futures traded near the flatline, while Nasdaq-100 futures were down 0.40%.

On Monday, US markets closed on a higher note as investors bought shares in companies related to artificial intelligence that ‌are expected to drive a strong second-quarter earnings season. The Nasdaq 100 closed the session 368.66 points or 1.26% higher at 29,697.87. The Dow Jones ended 0.30% higher at 53,056.74. The S&P 500 settled 0.72% higher at 7,537.48. 

Crude oil

West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude futures were trading 0.38% higher at $68.81 per barrel. On the other hand, Brent crude futures with August delivery were trading at $72.27, below the psychologically important level of $75. On COMEX, crude prices surged 0.35% to trade at $68.79 a barrel.

Gold rate today

On COMEX, the precious metal was trading at $4,172.20 an ounce, up 0.11%.

The rate for 24-carat gold today is Rs 1,47,140 per 10 grams. The price of gold has fallen 0.3% from yesterday. The 24 kt gold rate today in Delhi is Rs 1,46,890 per 10 grams. The 18-carat gold price today in India is Rs 1,10,355. The 24-carat gold rate in Dubai today is Rs 1,49,590. 

Silver rate today

On COMEX, Silver prices traded 0.06% higher at $4,172.20 per troy ounce.

In India, the silver rate fell 0.51%% to Rs 2.36 lakh per kilogram.

Silver had surged to record highs in January amid geopolitical tensions and economic uncertainty, with heavy speculative buying pushing prices higher, but soon faced volatility.

FII, DII data

Foreign institutional investors (FIIs) were net buyers of shares worth Rs 243.03 crore. On the other hand, the Domestic institutional investors (DIIs) were the net buyers of shares worth Rs 3,791.42 crore on July 06, 2026, according to the provisional data available on the NSE.

US dollar

The US Dollar Index (DXY), which measures the dollar’s value against a basket of six foreign currencies, was trading 0.01% higher at 100.89. The index evaluates the strength or weakness of the US dollar in comparison to major currencies. The basket contains currencies such as the British Pound, Euro, Swedish Krona, Japanese Yen, Swiss Franc, etc. The rupee depreciated 0.17% to close at 95.39 to the dollar on July 06.

Top sectors in Monday’s trade

The Beverages – Alcoholic sector’s stocks increased the most in Monday’s trade, rising 3.22% in market capitalisation. Further, Logistics stocks were followed by the Aluminium sector stocks, which were further followed by the Electric Equipment stocks. However, the Beverages – Non-Alcoholic sector stocks fell the most, declining 3.78%.
