Nifty, Sensex at close: The Indian stock market ended on a strong note on Monday, with the Sensex rising 521.16 points, or 0.67%, to close at 78,285.07, while the Nifty gained 159.50 points, or 0.66%, to settle at 24,430.35.

Among the Sensex 30 stocks, HDFC Bank emerged as the top gainer, climbing 3.37%, followed by Mahindra & Mahindra (2.04%), Bharat Electronics (1.78%), Reliance Industries (1.32%) and ICICI Bank (1.01%). On the downside, Kotak Mahindra Bank fell 3.93%, Tata Consultancy Services declined 1.61%, Bajaj Finserv slipped 0.99%, and Power Grid Corporation lost 0.90%.

Nifty, Sensex at 2:30 PM: At this hour, the benchmark indices are trading firmly in the green, with the Sensex rising 494.01 points, or 0.64%, to 78,257.92, while the Nifty gained 139.60 points, or 0.58%, to 24,410.45.

Nifty, Sensex at 12:30 PM: In afternoon trade, the domestic equity markets are trading firmly, with the Sensex rising 614.23 points, or 0.79%, to 78,378.14, while the Nifty 50 gained 176.90 points, or 0.73%, to 24,447.75.

Among the top gainers in the Sensex 30 pack at this hour were HDFC Bank, which climbed 3.35%, followed by Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M), up 2.03%. Bharat Electronics (BEL) advanced 1.67%, Reliance Industries gained 1.52%, and ICICI Bank rose 1.12%.

Nifty 50, Sensex today at 11:40 AM: Indian capital markets continue to trade in the green. The Nifty 50 was up 146 points or 0.60% to trade at 24,416.95, while the 30-stock basket was up 480 points or 0.62% to trade at 78,244.

In this strong market, Kotak Mahindra Bank was the major loser in the Nifty 50, dropping 3%. It was followed by TCS, Wipro, Dr Reddy’s Lab, Wipro, Infosys, and many others.

Nifty 50, Sensex today at 10:20 AM: The domestic equity indices extended gains an hour later. The Nifty 50 surged 130 points or 0.53% to trade at 24,000.30, while the BSE Sensex rose 423.18 points or 0.54% to trade at 78,187.09.

The heavyweight HDFC Bank remains the top gainer in the Nifty 50, rising more than 2.7%.

Nifty 50, Sensex today at open: Indian equity markets opened Monday’s trade on a higher note. The Nifty 50 rose 22 points or 0.09% to open at 24,293, while the BSE Sensex surged 153.47 points or 0.20% to open at 77,917.38.

Axis Bank, HDFC Bank, Bharat Electronics, ICICI Bank, and Hindalco Industries were the top gainers in the Nifty 50 as soon as it started to trade.

If Nifty 50 sustains above the 24,260 spot level could lead it towards the 24,500–24,600 levels in the near term. “Conversely, a fall below the 24,050 spot level would likely drag the index back towards the 23,800 spot level. The put-call ratio for the current week’s expiry is at 1, which indicates a higher probability of a sideways move in intraday,” said Vipin Kumar, Assistant Vice President of Research at Globe Capital Market.

Share market today ahead of opening, July 06: The global markets are trading mostly on a positive note as investors are once again considering chip-making stocks. Crude oil prices were trading near the $70 a barrel mark. Following this, the GIFT Nifty is indicating a higher start for Indian markets, up 20 points or 0.08%. 

Earlier on Friday, the Nifty 50 closed the session 95.15 points or 0.39% higher at 24,270.85, while the BSE Sensex surged 261.79 points or 0.34% to close at 77,763.91.

Asian Markets

Asia-Pacific markets opened Monday’s trade on a mixed note as investors rethink artificial intelligence-driven plays, with focus also on the minutes from the Federal Reserve’s June meeting, set to be released later this week. Japan’s benchmark Nikkei 225 was flat at the open, while the Topix added 0.2%. South Korea’s Kospi added 1.87%, while the small-cap Kosdaq declined 1%. Futures for Hong Kong’s Hang Seng index last traded at 23,253, lower than its previous close of 23,350.03.

US indices

US stock futures tied to benchmarks are trading higher on Monday following a strong week on Wall Street that drove the Dow Jones Industrial Average to record highs. Futures tied to the Dow Jones Industrial Average benchmark climbed 54 points, 0.10%. S&P 500 futures gained 0.45%, while Nasdaq-100 futures advanced 1.13%.

On Friday, US markets closed on a mixed note, with tech stocks bearing the brunt of selling. The Nasdaq 100 closed the session 479 points or 1.60% lower at 29,329.21. The Dow Jones ended 1.14% higher at 52,900.07. The S&P 500 settled flat at 7,483.24. 

Crude oil

West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude futures were trading 0.47% lower at $68.37 per barrel. On the other hand, Brent crude futures with August delivery were trading at $71.70, below the psychologically important level of $75. On COMEX, crude prices declined 0.28% to trade at $68.50 a barrel.

Gold rate today

On COMEX, the precious metal was trading at $4,188.40 an ounce, up 1.52%.

The rate for 24-carat gold today is Rs 1,47,580 per 10 grams. The price of gold has risen 1.15% from yesterday. The 24 kt gold rate today in Delhi is Rs 1,47,320 per 10 grams. The 18-carat gold price today in India is Rs 1,10,685. The 24-carat gold rate in Dubai today is Rs 1,49,590. 

Silver rate today

On COMEX, Silver prices traded 3.17% higher at $63 per troy ounce.

In India, the silver rate advanced 1.87%% to Rs 2.37 lakh per kilogram.

Silver had surged to record highs in January amid geopolitical tensions and economic uncertainty, with heavy speculative buying pushing prices higher, but soon faced volatility.

FII, DII data

Foreign institutional investors (FIIs) were net buyers of shares worth Rs 1,355.33 crore. On the other hand, the Domestic institutional investors (DIIs) were the net sellers of shares worth Rs 1,953.89 crore on July 03, 2026, according to the provisional data available on the NSE.

US dollar

The US Dollar Index (DXY), which measures the dollar’s value against a basket of six foreign currencies, was trading 0.01% higher at 100.87. The index evaluates the strength or weakness of the US dollar in comparison to major currencies. The basket contains currencies such as the British Pound, Euro, Swedish Krona, Japanese Yen, Swiss Franc, etc. The rupee depreciated 0.19% to close at 95.22 to the dollar on July 06.

Top sectors in Friday’s trade

The Wood sector’s stocks increased the most in Friday’s trade, rising 3.5% in market capitalisation. Further, Housing Finance stocks were followed by the Speciality Chemicals sector stocks, which were further followed by the Artificial Intelligence (AI) stocks. However, the Electric Equipment sector stocks fell the most, declining 3.66%.
