In July this year, Sunil Dutt, President of Reliance Jio Infocomm, said that India has increased its mobile data consumption by six times after Jio made an entry into the market. “After the introduction of Jio last year, the Indian consumer has ramped up its data consumption in six months to 1.2 billion gigabytes per month, out of which 1 billion gigabytes per month is consumed by Jio subscribers alone,” Sunil Dutt said. Notably, the telecom company also created a world record of the fastest 100 million user acquisition ever.
Yesterday, speaking at the event of India Mobile Congress, Mukesh Ambani said that the Indian economy will grow nearly three-fold in the next ten to years to become one of the world’s top three economies. “In the next 10 years, the Indian economy will grow from the present 2.5 trillion to over 7 trillion, and will rank among the top three economies in the world,” Mukesh Ambani said. In the same address, Mukesh Ambani said India must undertake three tasks for the economic growth: Exploring technologies for job creation, using it for energy and resource security, and digitisation of the human resource development.
“We have to ensure that every Indian has access to an affordable smartphone that connects him to the limitless knowledge and power of the internet,” he said at the event. Today, Mukesh Ambani reiterated RJio’s focus to drive innovation through customer-centricity. “We are going to provide deep integration of Apple’s entire gamut of services on Jio’s network, so that it provides superlative customer experience,” said Mukesh Ambani, chairman of Reliance Industries in his video message.
Apple iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus will be available in India on various e-commerce websites with lucrative offers. The starting price of these phones is Rs 64,000. Apple has announced that the 64GB and 256GB variant of iPhone 8 will cost Rs 64,000 and Rs 77,000, respectively. Similarly, iPhone 8 Plus 64GB is priced at Rs 73,000, while the 256GB variant will cost Rs 86,000. Both the phones will go on sale in India at 6 pm IST.
