Sensex ends flat in a volatile trade, Nifty settles above 8,600; Dishman Pharma, TVS Srichakra surge over 10%

Sensex settled 38.43 points up at 27,865.96 in a volatile trade. Nifty closed 29.90 points up at 8,621.15.

Sensex settled 38.43 points up at 27,865.96 in a volatile trade. Nifty closed 29.90 points up at 8,621.15. In the 50-share index, Aurobindo Pharma, Bank of Baroda, Grasim, Mahindra & Mahindra and Gail gained between 2.89 per cent and 3.86 per cent. On the other hand, Cipla, Tech Mahindra, Coal India, ITC and Ambuja Cement slipped between 1.09 per cent and 3.85 per cent.

Dishman Pharma and TVS Srichakra closed 15.83 per cent and 9.69 per cent up at Rs 259 and Rs 4026.95, respectively.

3.01 pm: Benchamark BSE Sensex was trading 60 points up at 27,887.34 in a volatile trade. Nifty was up by 23.80 points at 8615.05.

2.07 pm: Sensex was down 15 points at 27812. Nifty was trading almost flat at 8,594. NHPC shares were trading nearly 3 per cent up at Rs 25. Read more

1.27 pm: Sakar Healthcare IPO of 29,61,000 equity shares of Rs 10 each in a price band Rs 42-50 per equity share hit capital markets on Sept 30. The issue will close on Oct 5.

1.07 pm: Sensex was down 62.53 points at 27765. Nifty was down 9.95 points at 8,581.

12.23 pm: Sensex was down by 67.24 points at 27760.29. However, overall market breadth remained optimistic as there were 1626 shares on the gaining side against 731 shares on the losing side, while 178 shares remained unchanged.

12.07 pm: Karnataka Bank has entered into tie-up with LIC Mutual Fund Asset Management Company (LIC Mutual Fund) for distribution of mutual fund products through over its 730 branches across India. Shares of the bank were trading 1.08 per cent up at Rs 145.35. Sensex was down 50.92 points at 27,776.61.

11.02 am: Sensex was down 13.76 points at 27813. However, Nifty was up by 3.15 points at 8594. In the 50-share index, Grasim, GAIL, ONGC, Bank of Baroda and Infosys were up between 1.10 per cent and 1.90 per cent. On the other hand, Cipla, Adani Ports, Bharti Infratel, Bharti Airtel and HUL were down between 1.27 per cent and 2.83 per cent.

10.31 am: Alkem Labs shares slipped over 8 per cent intraday after the company said it has received inspection report with thirteen observations from the US health regulator after the inspection of its manufacturing facility at Daman.

10.09 am: The rupee recovered 16 paise to 66.69 against the US dollar in early trade on Friday at the
Interbank Foreign Exchange market on fresh selling of the American currency by exporters.

9.27 am: Seamec was trading 6.15 per cent up at Rs 82.85. The company has entered into an agreement with HAL Offshore (HAL) on September 27, 2016 for deployment of vessel SEAMEC II along with provision of services of ROV, the contract commenced with effect from September 28, 2016. The total contract value for the period of 3 years will be approximately $33,441,300.

9.17 am: Financial Technologies were trading 4.41 per cent up at Rs 81.75. Sensex was trading 33.23 points up at 27860. Nifty was up 11 points at 8,602.

9.16 am: Sintex was trading over 4 per cent up at Rs 76.40 after the company said its board has approved demerger of custom moulding business and prefab business. Read more

9.15 am: The BSE Sensex and NSE Nifty opened marginally in red on Friday tracking weak global cues. The 30-share index opened 19.71 points down at 27807.82, while Nifty 50 index opened 9.75 points down at 8581.50.

Japan’s Nikkei slipped on Friday after fears about the stability Deutsche Bank shook Wall Street and took a toll on financial shares, with the Japanese stock index on track for weekly and monthly losses.
