Benchmark BSE Sensex and NSE Nifty ended the day on a flat note with marginal gains. The 30-share Sensex closed 18.69 points up at 28,372.23, while Nifty 50 index settled 11 points up at 8,726. Among the 51-components in the Nifty index, Bank of Baroda, YES Bank, Tata Motors DVR, Adani Ports and ACC gained between 2.45 per cent and 4.21 per cent. On the other hand, Bosch, Coal India, ONGC, TCS and Sun Pharma dipped between 0.99 per cent and 2.04 per cent.
2.44 pm: Sensex was trading 32.79 points down at 28320.75, while Nifty was down 3.95 points at 8711.65. In the 50-share index, YES Bank, Bank of Baroda, Hero MotoCorp, UltraTech Cement and ACC were up between 2 per cent and 3.35 per cent. On the other hand, Coal India, Bosch, TCS, Sun Pharma and Hindustan Unilever were down between 1.39 per cent and 2 per cent.
1.52 pm: Kaveri Seed Company shares rallied nearly 5 per cent intraday despite the company reported 27.89 per cent fall in net profit at Rs 160.28 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2016 against net profit of Rs 222.29 crore in the same quarter last year. Sensex and Nifty were trading flat.
1.29 pm: Shares of Hindustan Construction Company hit their fresh 52-week high of Rs 40.95 after it announced that the company has bagged construction order worth Rs 181.65 crore from the Department of Atomic Energy.
1.20 pm: Sensex was trading 44.56 points down at 28308. Nifty was down 8.95 points at 8,706.
12.44 pm: GNA Axles IPO subscribed by 4 per cent on the first day of offer till 11 am. Sensex was trading 5 points up at 28358. Nifty was up 12.20 points at 8,727.
12.12 pm: L&T Technology Services IPO was subscribed 27 per cent on the second day of the public offer till 11.00 am. Sensex was down 11 points at 28342. Nifty was trading 0.60 points up at 8,716.
11.44 am: State-owned NHPC has signed an agreement with BHEL for renovation and modernization (R&M) of 180 MW Baira Siul power station in Himachal Pradesh. The scope of the agreement includes electromechanical works package comprising supply, installation, commissioning of turbines and accessories and dismantling of the existing system. Shares of NHPC were trading 2.93 per cent up at Rs 26.35. Sensex was down 64.35 points at 28289.19.

10.31 am: Amtek Auto shares were trading 3.63 per cent down at Rs 42.50 post Q1 results. Sensex was down 75 points at 28278.59. Nifty was down 19.05 points down at 8696.55.
10.29 am: Futures & Options (F&O) total turnover stood at Rs 3,88,538.91 crore on September 12 and the total number of contracts traded on the day were 54,18,508. Of the total turnover, Index Futures contributed Rs 20,203.46 crore, Stock Futures Rs 42,068.00 crore and Index Options Rs 2,94,932.40 crore, while the contribution of the Stock Options was of Rs 31,335.05 crore. For the day, the total F&O Put Call ratio stood 1.04, while Index Options Put Call ratio was 1.10 and that of Stock Options was 0.60.
10.00 am: SJVN reported 0.97 per cent fall in its net profit at Rs 479.96 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2016 as compared to Rs 484.67 crore for the same quarter in the previous year. Shares of the company were trading 0.53 per cent down at Rs 28.15.

9.23 am: Suzlon Energy slipped as much as 9.27 per cent in the early trade post Q1 results.
9.18 am: Nifty was trading 14.05 points up at 8729.65. In the 50-share index, BPCL, Hindalco, YES Bank, Bajaj Auto and BHEL were up between 1.25 per cent and 1.47 per cent. On the other hand, Coal India, Bosch, Zee Entertainment, HDFC and Bharti Infratel were down between 0.60 per cent and 2.39 per cent.
9.17 am: BSE Sensex was trading 53.27 points up at 28,406.81, while NSE Nifty was trading 4.05 points up at 8,719.65.
9.15 am: Domestic benchmark indices made a soft start on Wednesday tracking mixed global cues. The BSE Sensex opened 8.05 points down at 28345.49, while Nifty 50 index opened 4.95 points down at 8710.65.
