Just Dial announced the launch of its B2B offering JD Omni which is a plug and play cloud hosted system to help small retailers manage orders, inventory and billing. While Just Dial will tap its existing listing base, the product, selling process and we suspect even the customers are likely to be quite different implying a new revenue opportunity but also new execution challenges. Moreover the size of this opportunity remains to be seen.
JD Omni is a plug and play cloud hosted system that will help small retailers manage online orders, inventory and billing. Using the system, retailers can launch their own site and mobile app through which orders can be placed. It facilitates real-time inventory and order tracking, placement of stock-up orders to distributors and generation of business analytics. It can also be used to plug the vendor into Just Dial’s (JUST IN, Rs 537, Underperform) own market place.
The system caters to a wide range of retailers such as grocers, sellers of electronics & digital products, hardware shops, etc. The system can be implemented over any device (desktop/mobile/ tablet) and can work offline though it will need to connect to the internet from time to time.
Currently Just Dial has launched it on the android/Microsoft platform though it plans to roll out the IoS version soon. Just Dial has two pricing plans for the product: an initial setup fee of Rs 20,000 and a monthly fee of Rs 2,000, and one-time fee of R1,20,000 (though Just Dial is currently offering an introductory price of Rs 65,000). This compares with current average subscription per paid campaign for Just Dial of Rs 18,000 per annum.
