Riding high on the ‘Make In India’ initiative, defence IoT start-up CRON Systems will be offering perimeter surveillance products in Bangladesh. This partnership has provided CRON a new market to showcase Indian technology on the global stage. Launched in 2015, Delhi-based CRON offers surveillance solutions that can be used at borders, airports or homes, using technology to automate the security. It is already providing border surveillance systems and product line of defence—the KV series powered by Infrared and Laser—offering all-terrain, all-weather breach notification to Border Security Force (BSF) and Shashatra Seema Bal (SSB-Nepal border) for smart border security solution. The start-up is also targeting potential markets in Africa and Asia. The firm earns revenue from direct sales and maintenance contracts. It is also exploring charging a fee for CRONet usage from third-party security providers.
“Today, the border security force are securing the borders by physical patrolling, while exposing themselves to snipers, IEDs, and mortar shelling. Not only are they putting themselves in harm’s way, the level of area they can cover and the ability to actually detect a threat, are minimal at best,” says Tushar Chabbra, founder, CRON. “By deploying our KAVACH laser wall and miCRON network, the defending forces can not only increase the reliability of intrusion detection, they do that while not exposing themselves to enemy fire and maintain the same amount of vigilance 24 hours a day, in all types of weather and terrain conditions.”
Bangladesh’s GETCO Group, which has tied up with CRON for this, will provide marketing and channel support for the latter’s products. “We were looking for a company which could provide the best perimeter security solutions according to our requirements, and CRON Systems has the proven capability and products that can be deployed in a short period of time along the Bangladesh borders,” Shafquat Alam, GETCO group said.
