Idea Cellular shares plunged over 6 per cent on Friday and hit their new 52-week low of Rs 105.60 after the telecom major on Thursday reported a marginal decline in its consolidated net profit figures at Rs 764.21 crore for the quarter ended December 2015 due to decline in voice and mobile data rates.
The company registered a net profit of Rs 767.06 crore in the same quarter last year.
The share price of the company settled 6.19 per cent down at Rs 106.85. The scrip opened at Rs 115 and had touched a high and low of Rs 115 and Rs 105.60, respectively, in trade. Sensex closed 473 points, or 2 per cent, up at 24,435.
Consolidated net sales of the company increased by 12.39 per cent year-on-year to Rs 9,001.43 crore.
