FPIs continue to show interest in govt securities

Foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) continue to show interest in central government securities even as they lapped up the investment limits during Monday’s auction. Foreign investors put in bids worth Rs 4,541 crore against a notified amount of Rs 2,786 crore.

Foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) continue to show interest in central government securities even as they lapped up the investment limits during Monday’s auction. Foreign investors put in bids worth Rs 4,541 crore against a notified amount of Rs 2,786 crore. In the previous auction, FPIs had bid for limits worth Rs 6,663 crore against a total notified amount of Rs 4,910 crore.

The highest bid on Monday’s auction stood at 3.75 basis points while the cut-off stood at 2.10 basis points. Compared with this the previous auction saw the highest bid at four basis points against a cut-off of two basis points. The total number of bidders stood at 47 compared with 54 in the last auction.
