Kolkata-headquartered Dollar Industries, which makes hosiery garments, made its debut on the National Stock Exchange (NSE) on Friday, listing at Rs 1,314 a share. The stock was locked at the upper circuit of 5% at Rs 1,379.7 per share. Approximately, 42,816 shares were traded on the counter. Gaurav Jain, director of Hem Securities, said the script had not been traded in the last 14 years. The net profit of Dollar Industries for three months ended December 31, 2016, was Rs 6.06 crore against Rs 3.82 crore for the same period in 2015.
The company, which has Akshay Kumar as its brand ambassador, is known for its brands like Big Boss and Force. It manufactures and sells hosiery and garments under brands like Big Boss, Club, Myme, Force go-wear, Force denims, Missy, Ultra thermals, Champions kids, Gap-free, etc. Its manufacturing facilities are located at Kolkata, Tirupur, Dindigul, Erode, Delhi and Ludhiana. The stock was earlier listed on the Calcutta stock exchange.
