Gold prices saw a jump of a per cent while silver increased by 2.8% compared to yesterday on the back of geopolitical tensions arising out of West Asia. 

“Gold prices surged to Rs 77,200 on MCX, gaining over Rs 500, as geopolitical turmoil reignited safe-haven demand. Rebel forces ousted Syria’s President Bashar al-Assad, with reports of Israeli involvement in Syrian territory and Turkey-backed rebel activity escalating tensions. Meanwhile, South Korea’s leadership crisis, involving President Yoon Suk Yeol’s criminal investigation and impeachment survival, added to global uncertainty. These developments shifted gold’s range higher to Rs 76,500–Rs 78,000, with safe-haven demand likely to remain elevated in the near term,” said Jateen Trivedi, Vice President and Research Analyst of Commodity and Currency at LKP Securities.

The 24-carat gold rate in India was quoted for a price of Rs 77,430 per 10 grams on December 10. The rate for 24-carat gold per gram is Rs 7,743. While the rate of 22-carat gold was Rs 70,978 per 10 grams.

The price of 24-carat gold has risen 0.8% in the last seven days. It has increased by 0.5% in the last ten days. The silver is available to Indian customers today at a price of Rs 94,830 per kilogram.
