Online travel portal Yatra.com has introduced Voice Search in order to simplify user experience while booking domestic and international flights. With Voice Search, users can simply tap on the microphone icon and speak out the travel details, for instance, ‘I want a flight from Delhi to Mumbai for two adults next Tuesday’. The flight results with all the options will appear instantly. Voice Search is particularly said to be useful for long queries that would otherwise require plenty of details to be typed in, such as number of travellers and number of adults or children. Popular holidays also are synchronised into the app for ease of search.

Commenting on the development, Sharat Dhall, COO (B2C), Yatra.com said, “Over the last 18 months, we have seen a significant increase in searches and bookings via mobiles and hence the introduction of a feature like Voice Search to make it easier for the mobile user to search and book flights. We think it will play a transformational role in the way flight bookings are made. Voice searches on search engines are already over 20 per cent of all mobile searches and continue to grow every day. The addition of Voice Search is in line with our endeavour to improve user experience and create happy travellers. We think that this will become an integral part of the travel booking experience in the future.”
