Tourism Authority of Thailand is targeting tourists from tier two cities in the country and as a part of its new strategy it organised Amazing Thailand Products Presentation in Chandigarh where 13 travel trade partners from Thailand, consisting of hotels, handling agents, attractions, entertainment options, service providers and airlines showcased the new products.
About 100 travel agents from Chandigarh, Ludhiana, Jalandhar, Patiala and Amritsar in Punjab participated. The service providers from Thailand interacted with the local agents. Besides business talk, Tourism Authority of Thailand had organised a Thai cultural performance to present Thainess during the event in both cities. The performers were specially flown in directly from Thailand.
According to a release issued here today, the presentation was done by Tourism Authority of Thailand, New Delhi, Director- Runjuan Tongrut, updated the agents on new destinations and suggest new routes and new trends. Suladda Sarutilawan, Director, Tourism Authority of Thailand, Pattaya updated new activities and attractions in Pattaya and beyond .
Director, Runjuan mentioned, “ 2015 is a great year for Thailand, in the first half of the year there were over 5 lakhs Indians went to Thailand and we are confident that by the end of 2015 we will reach over 10 lakhs figure, and spending of Indian travellers will be up by +5% compared to last year.”
