President Pranab Mukherjee congratulates ISRO for satellite launch

Giving a big boost to India's space mission, ISRO successfully launched its global first 20 satellite in 1 rocket. The rocket took off from Sriharikota center in Andhra Pradesh.

Giving a big boost to India’s space mission, ISRO successfully launched its global first 20 satellite in 1 rocket. The rocket  took off from Sriharikota center in Andhra Pradesh.

PSLV C-34 injects Cartosat-2 series and 19 satellites into orbit.

Besides the third satellite in Cartosat-2 series, ISRO has launched 17 foreign satellites and 2 satellites from Indian universities. The PSLV rocket standing 44.4 metre tall and weighing 320 tonne, launches into the morning skies at 9.26 a.m. The other 19 satellites weighing totally around 560 kg are from US, Canada, Germany and Indonesia as well as one satellite each from Chennai’s Sathyabama University and College of Engineering, Pune.

According to ISRO, the total weight of all the 20 satellites is about 1,288 kg.
