Verdict: After Deepika Padukone, MS Dhoni gives teeth to Colgate’s Andar se Strong campaign this time. The TVC, conceptualised by RedFuse Communication, unveils the softer side of the former captain’s personality as he shares ‘candid’ moments with his wife, and talks about making some hard choices in life, smiling all along. The ad does its job.

Levi’s — #IShapeMyWorld
Verdict: A catchy take on women empowerment that is hummable and delightful to watch. The song, Fire within me (written and sung by artiste Anushqa), is the fifth edition of Levi’s I Shape My World campaign. The video is striking and features gritty women, young and old, from different walks of life (sports, entertainment and journalism).
Rating: 8/10
Vanesa — Love Yourself,
Love Vanesa
Verdict: It’s difficult to ‘love’ a TVC that lacks originality so severely. Created by The Shop, the video shows Kareena Kapoor sashaying around, as some unremarkable music plays in the background. Although she wants us to believe that behind all that oomph is Vanesa deos, there is neither style nor substance in this one.
Rating: 4/10
Xiaomi — #RanveerWithMi
Verdict: Hats off to Xiaomi’s rip-roaring announcement of its partnership with Ranveer Singh, in which he dances to Sexy and I Know It like no one’s watching. But we watched it more than once. When Singh receives a call from Xiaomi’s India head, Manu Jain, to confirm their alliance, he says, “We’re on…like Donkey Kong.” A riveting teaser, indeed.

Surf Excel —#RangLaayeSang
Verdict: The video by Lowe Lintas has created a furore on Twitter; while some appreciated its message of religious harmony, some have found it to be offensive. A colourful ad with a soothing background score; but doesn’t quite hit the nail on the head. It is not as endearing as the other ads in the Daag Acche Hain series.
Rating: 6/10
