Karva Chauth 2017: Karva Chauth is one of the important festivals for married women in India. On this occasion, married Hindu women observe fast for the well-being of their husbands. According to one tale, a princess named Veeravati was married in her childhood. On her first Karva Chauth, she went to her parents’ house. After sunrise, she observed the fast. But she couldn’t hold the fast for long as she was too young and fragile, as per India TV report. The queen had seven brothers, who couldn’t see their sister famished and parched. With a trick, they decided to break her fast.

In the nearby hill, her brothers created an artificial fire and made her believe that it was moonlight. As soon as, the queen had her first morsel, her husband died according to legend, as per India TV report.
