Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday stressed the importance of addressing the issues of safety, quality and rational use of Ayurveda.

He said while traditional medicines such as Ayurveda are affordable and accessible to the poor and rural people, it is important that the government ensures the quality of these systems.Modi was addressing the Vision

Modi said Ayurveda is relevant globally today because of its holistic and comprehensive approach to health, he said, adding that the real potential of Ayurveda is untapped unfortunately because of inadequate scientific scrutiny and concerns regarding standards and quality. India can be a leader in making affordable, holistic health care available to the world if the concerns are addressed properly, he said.
