The vaccination drive will receive further push after Serum Institute of India, the makers of Covishield, announced that it would scale up production to supply 200 million doses from October. Kerala remains a concern for India with the southern state’s active caseload remaining high around 1.86 lakh. The country’s overall daily caseload addition also remains steady around the 30,000 mark.

In the US, an expert panel approved a booster shot of Pfizer’s vaccine for people over 65 years and those at risk, rejecting an initial proposal to vaccinate every eligible person with the third dose.
