The fifth edition of FIS Alpine World Ski Championship, running till February 19 in St Moritz, is aiming to provide a stage for some of the world’s top skiers, and a fitting setting for the expected 140,000 guests and fans.

St Moritz has a significant association with winter sports since winter sports were “invented” there more than 150 years ago. The World Ski Championships are said to have triggered enthusiasm across the entire region and in the Canton of Graubünden. A total of 1,200 volunteers including people from all parts of Switzerland and across the word participate in the champsionship.
