The final developer preview of Android N or Android Nougat is now available for download and users can now test the interface and apps on their devices. With new features like multi-window UI, direct reply notifications and more, the final rollout is highly awaited.

Google, like always has stuffed an ‘Easter egg’ into this version which is a ‘cat collecting game’ called Neko Atsume. The developer preview is a free program where the user can test and optimize apps, just by downloading the N Developer Preview tools.

According toa post on Android Developers’ blog, “Developer Preview 5 includes near-final system images for supported devices and the Android emulator. The images include the final APIs (API level 24) for the upcoming Android N platform. When you are done testing, you can publish apps using API level 24 to Google Play, in alpha, beta, and production release channels.”

The preview contains, system images eligible for the beta program, for devices like Nexus and system updates which will help in testing apps in the OS before the rollout.

Latest system behaviors and user interface are present along with bug fixes.

This version is just a preview, hence the stability issue is a matter of question. Nevertheless, date for the final rollout of the counsumer version has yet not been announced.
