Airtel will take on Reliance Jio with a fast internet service. Global technology giant Nokia and India’s biggest telecom service provider Bharti Airtel have announced that they have planned a strategy to reach the network evolution to 5G services. They are also planning to introduce the Internet-of-Things (IoT) in India. The companies together will upgrade 4G service of power, operations and cost effectiveness, ensuring reliability and quality. According to the company, 5G technology will dramatically improve peak data speeds, agility, network latency and new potentials like network slicing. Abhay Savargaonkar, Director-Network Services (India and South Asia), Bharti Airtel, in a statement said, “The 5G and IoT applications have tremendous potential to transform lives and we are pleased to partner with Nokia to enable these future technologies for our customers.” When 5G comes to India, it will help even the rural areas as much as it will aid the smart cities which are in the works. Such a technology will come to many areas including connected vehicles, industrial automation, healthcare and many other potentials. In the new deal, Airtel will use Nokia’s 5G end-to-end 5G solution including AirScale radio access portfolio and AirFrame data centre platform. This will show the capabilities 5G has in extreme broadband and reliability.

Sanjay Malik, Head of India Market, Nokia, “After our successful association with Bharti Airtel for 2G, 3G and 4G technologies, we are proud to partner to prepare for the future of mobile networks. We will leverage our global experience in 5G-related industry projects and collaborations to enable Bharti Airtel to prepare their networks for greater capacity, coverage and speed.”
