After maintaining its online-only business model since its launch, Nothing has officially inaugurated its first flagship store in India. The opening of the Bengaluru store marks a milestone in the company’s expansion strategy, establishing Bengaluru as home to Nothing’s second global flagship location after London.
The store was inaugurated by CEO Carl Pei and co-founder and India President Akis Evangelidis. Located in the heart of the city’s Indiranagar district, the launch capitalises on Nothing’s status as the fastest-growing smartphone brand in India for seven of the last eight quarters.
Nothing flagship store opens in Bengaluru
Spanning 5,032 square feet, the flagship space departs from conventional retail aesthetics. The design of Nothing’s store draws inspiration from the retro-futurism of 1970s assembly lines and workshops, utilising raw materials like concrete, aluminum, steel, and glass.
The architecture reflects Nothing’s core ethos of transparency, leaving the structure “unadorned” to show that nothing is hidden in form or function. “We intentionally didn’t want to build a conventional retail store,” said Akis Evangelidis. “Instead, we designed this space to offer our customers a unique, immersive experience”. CEO Carl Pei also participated in the first delivery of the store’s product.

An immersive community hub
The store serves as a comprehensive ecosystem for both Nothing and its sub-brand, CMF. Beyond product sales, the flagship introduces several experiential features:
Creator studio: A dedicated space for creators to film unboxing and hands-on content.
Interactive elements: The store features vending machines, claw games, and conveyor-belt product displays.
Community hangout: A zone designed for events and informal interactions, offering visitors complimentary snacks and beverages.
Exclusive customisation: This location offers customised Nothing products and official merchandise, including apparel.
The Bengaluru store, located in the Indiranagar area, will operate daily from 11:00 AM to 9:00 PM. Following this launch, Nothing plans to continue its global retail expansion with upcoming locations in New York City and Tokyo.
The store launch comes after Nothing CEO Carl Pei has issued stark warning that the era of affordable, high-spec smartphones is coming to an end, predicting that consumers may face price hikes of 30% or more in 2026. In a detailed post on X (formerly Twitter) and subsequent media interviews, Pei explained that the industry’s long-standing assumption—that component costs inevitably drop over time—has been shattered by a global “RAM crisis.” This surge is primarily driven by massive demand from AI data centers, which are competing with smartphone manufacturers for the same memory chips, causing the cost of components like LPDDR5 and NAND flash to triple. Pei noted that memory modules, which cost under $20 a year ago, could exceed $100 by the end of 2026, forcing brands to either raise retail prices significantly or downgrade hardware specifications to maintain their margins.
For Nothing, this shift means “inevitable” price increases across their portfolio, starting with upcoming devices like the Phone (4a) series, though Pei argues this crisis will ultimately favour brands that prioritise intentional design and user experience over a pure “specs race.”
