The new Aadhaar application is said to be designed to make managing Aadhaar simpler, safer, and more practical for everyday use. UIDAI highlights that, despite repeated advisories, people across India still routinely share photocopies of Aadhaar for hotel check-ins, SIM cards, office verification, and more, raising the risk of data misuse. Therefore, the new application brings in new features to prevent this misuse.

Offline verification is the feature using which people can use Aadhaar Cards for verification without sharing all details including Aadhaar number.

M-Aadhaar users can verify their identity offline, without an internet connection and without exposing unnecessary personal details. There are two ways to verify Aadhaar offline:

Share ID: Users can generate a password-protected Aadhaar file and share only selected details such as name and age depending on the requirement.

Scan QR code: The app allows users to scan a QR code shown by the verifying entity, enabling instant verification without handing over physical documents.

Step 4: Select your preferred language and complete the setup.
Step 5: Once installed, you can start using the app for digital identity management, verification, and updates.
