LG V30 is a newly launched flagship smartphone which will take on the recently announced Samsung Galaxy Note 8 and later the Apple iPhone 8. All the three companies are battling it out in the global premium smartphone market. While Samsung has unveiled its Galaxy Note 4 last week, LG took the wraps off the V30 smartphone at the IFA 2017 in Berlin. Meanwhile, tech giant Apple is expectedly going to announce the next iPhone probably called the iPhone 8 on September 12. Amidst all the war of brands in the market, here’s a look at the price, specifications and features of the LG V30 versus the Samsung Galaxy Note 8.
Samsung Galaxy Note 8 vs LG V30: Build and design: Interestingly, both LG V30 as well as Samsung Galaxy Note 8 look very similar to the Galaxy S8+ smartphone. The LG device has a 6 inch OLED screen with rounded corners. The phone has an aspect ratio of 18:9 and has some bezels. The Galaxy Note 8 features a metal and glass design. It has a bigegr 6.3-inch QHD display. It has a ratio of 18:9:5. Both the phones have a fingerprint scanner positioned at the rear end. In terms of dimensions, the Galaxy Note is 162.5 x 74.8 x 8.6 mm and the LG phone has 151.7 x 75.4 x 7.3mm. This means that the Samsung device is fatter and longer. Interestingly, inspite of being taller, it is less wide than the LG mobile. Both LG V30 and Samsung Galaxy Note 8 are certified as IP68, which means they are water and dust resistant.

Samsung Galaxy Note 8 vs LG V30: Performance: When it comes to the processor and software, both LG and Samsung smartphones have the best in the market. While the LG V30 is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 chipset, the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 has two models, one with the same Snapdragon 835 processor and another with the Exynos 8895. The Snapdragon chipset in Samsung device is expected to be available only in the US, while the other one will be unveiled for the other markets, including India. Having said that, both Exynos and Snapdragon are as good and powerful as they come. In terms of storage, the LG smartphone has a 4GB RAM model, while the Samsung device comes with 6GB RAM. When it comes to the battery, both LG and Samsung phones contain a non-removable 3300mAh battery, which is just enough to go through the day.
Samsung Galaxy Note 8 vs LG V30: Camera: Both the smartphones have a dual rear camera setup. LG V30 features a 16 MP normal lens with 70-degree field-of-view as well as OIS and a 13 MP wide angle camera with a 120-degree field of view without OIS. On the front, it has a 5MP camera.
Meanwhile, both the cameras in the Galaxy Note 8 have 12 MP capability along with dual pixel tech and OIS. The selfie shooter is 8 MP. Interestingly, all the cameras in the Samsung device have optical image stabilization which hasn’t been seen on any phone till now. Meanwhile, LG V30 has the larget aperture in any phone ever (f/1.6).

Samsung Galaxy Note 8 vs LG V30: Price: Samsung Galaxy Note 8 will start shipping on September 12 and may come to India from September 21. The expected price of the Galaxy Note 8 in India is around Rs 65,000. Meanwhile, LG has said that the V30 will start being available in South Korea from September 21. After this, the phone will go to other markets like the US, the UK, Asia and Middle East. The price of the smartphone has not been revealed yet, but is expected to be somewhere around the same range as that of the Galaxy Note 8.
