After a lot of delays, Rockstar Games has officially announced that Grand Theft Auto 6 will arrive on November 19, 2026. The game is already one of the most awaited titles in modern gaming history, has faced multiple delays but Rockstar says the extra time will ensure the experience lives up to fan expectations.
However the release of GTA-VI might have hit a roadblock in Russia. According to multiple reports a high ranking official in the Russian government is creating a group of people who want the game to get heavily censored in Russia or get it banned completely.
Who wants GTA-VI Banned in Russia?
Interestingly according to a Russian news website “news.ru”. Mikhail Ivanov who is the deputy chairman of the World Russian People Council is the one who is wanting to to get the game to get censored in the country. Mikhail Ivanov also spoke with the publication and said that the game’s content is concerning and he has requested Rockstar to develop a special version of the game there.
What is the problem in GTA-VI according to Mikhail?
Mikhail Ivanov said, ‘The creators of GTA 6 are deliberately including destructive and vulgar content in their product, which is completely unacceptable to the moral health of society. This includes the planned inclusion of scenes of male striptease in the game, which is a direct and cynical violation of basic moral norms and traditional spiritual values.’
He concluded by saying, ‘We need to either impose strict legal restrictions on the distribution of such games in Russia or require publishers to release special versions for our market, cleared of immoral content.’ The biggest concern for Mikhail Ivanov is the inclusion of male strippers in the game, which he considers taboo.
GTA 6 Expected Pricing
Although Rockstar has not revealed official pricing, early leaks indicate that the base version could cost around $100 (roughly Rs 8,700), with premium editions carrying a higher price tag. The PC edition, whenever announced, is likely to demand powerful hardware due to the game’s cutting-edge visuals and advanced physics engine.
For now, Rockstar has only confirmed GTA 6 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S, with no details yet on a PC launch or system requirements.
