At the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos, Elon Musk made a statement that grabbed global attention. Musk said artificial intelligence (AI) could become smarter than any human by the end of this year. If not this year, he believes it will almost certainly happen in 2026. His comments have once again sparked debate about how fast AI is really advancing.

AI Growth is Faster Than Expected

According to Elon Musk, AI development is moving much faster than most people expected. He believes that the smartest AI systems could soon outperform even the brightest human minds. Going a step further, Elon Musk Musk said that by around 2030, AI might be smarter than all humans combined. This idea, known as superintelligence, refers to machines that can think, learn, and solve problems far beyond human abilities.

Elon Musk has been warning about both the power and risks of AI for years. While he sees huge potential in the technology, he has also stressed the need to use it responsibly.

Robots Could Become Part of Daily Life

Elon Musk also spoke about how AI will not remain limited to computers and software. He expects humanoid robots powered by AI to play a major role in everyday life. Tesla’s Optimus robot, for example, could help with household chores, factory work, and even assist in caring for children or elderly people.
He suggested that these robots could be available for sale as early as next year. If this happens, it could change how people work and live, especially in industries that rely heavily on manual labour.

Energy is The Biggest Challenge

One important issue Elon Musk highlighted was energy consumption. AI systems require massive computing power, which in turn needs a lot of electricity. Elon Musk believes that in the future, energy supply  not technology could become the biggest hurdle for AI growth.
To tackle this, he talked about increasing the use of solar energy and even exploring ideas like building data centres in space.

What Can be Expected in The Future?

Whether Elon Musk’s predictions are true or not, one thing is clear that AI is advancing quickly and will have a major impact on the future. From robots to smart software, the next few years could bring changes that change the world.
