If you have been itching to try a new subscription-based streaming service, the Black Friday shopping frenzy has got you covered. This year’s Black Friday sale has extended beyond electronics and retail, as major streaming platforms are offering steep discounts to capture new and returning subscribers ahead of the holiday season in the US. Services like Disney+, Hulu, Max (formerly HBO Max), and Apple TV+ have introduced aggressive promotions that will remain live through Cyber Monday.

Black Friday OTT streaming service offers

Some of the most compelling deals are heavily discounted monthly rates, often locking in new subscribers for up to a year:

Disney+ and Hulu Bundle:

The ad-supported bundle for Disney+ and Hulu is available for just $4.99 per month for 12 months, representing approximately a 62% discount off the regular price. A discounted, ad-free bundle is also available at $14.99 per month.

Max (formerly HBO Max):

Fans of prestige television can access the ad-supported tier of Max for only $2.99 per month for 12 months.

Apple TV+:

New or eligible returning customers can subscribe to Apple’s original content platform for $5.99 per month for six months, roughly half its standard monthly rate.

Discounted rates hope to appeal to diverse viewers

The promotions are structured to appeal to different segments of the market. The Disney+/Hulu bundle provides broad appeal, combining family-friendly content from Disney, Pixar, and Marvel with Hulu’s more mature catalog.

Meanwhile, the Max and Apple TV+ offers provide significant value for viewers primarily interested in high-quality, original cinema and web series.

Smaller streaming services and add-ons like Starz and AMC+ are also participating, often through discounted promotional pricing via third-party channels, allowing users to build a low-cost, flexible entertainment library.

Note that most of these steep discounts are targeted at new or returning subscribers, limiting eligibility for existing long-term users.
