We often see celebrities living what looks like a perfect life on social media, full of glitz and glamour. But behind the camera, many deal with real-life struggles just like everyone else. Fashion influencer and actor Uorfi Javed, who is famous for her unique and bold outfits, recently decided to open up and get very honest with her fans about a dark phase she went through involving her health and mental well-being.
A difficult time for Uorfi
On January 21, Uorfi shared a very personal update on her Instagram stories. She posted a photo of a weighing scale that showed her weight at just 38 kg. Looking back at that time, she admitted it was a very scary and painful time. She explained that she was feeling extremely sick and was struggling with deep depression.
Uorfi didn’t hold back when describing how poorly she was treating her body. She revealed that she was barely eating, often having only one meal a day and completely cutting out carbs. While she was extremely thin, she didn’t feel good at all. In fact, she said she felt angry, moody, and irritated all the time because her body wasn’t getting the fuel it needed.
The problem with “hidden” health issues
One of the most surprising things Uorfi shared was about her appearance. Even though she was underweight with a tiny 23-inch waist, her face often looked very swollen. This led to people online accusing her of getting bad facial fillers or plastic surgery.
Uorfi cleared the air, saying that wasn’t true at all. The swelling was actually caused by her unhealthy lifestyle and inflammation. Because she wasn’t eating enough and was ignoring her food allergies, her body was reacting badly. She suffered from constant sinus problems and poor drainage in her face, which made her look puffy even though she was starving herself. It’s a strong reminder that being “skinny” doesn’t always mean being healthy.
How she found her way back
Luckily, Uorfi has started to turn things around, and she shared what helped her the most. It wasn’t a magic pill or a fad diet, but rather weight training. She credited lifting weights with helping her both physically and mentally.
By starting to exercise and eat better, she began to feel stronger and more stable. While she admitted that her face still swells up occasionally, she feels much better than she did last year. Her message to her followers was simple: physical strength and mental health go hand in hand. By being so open about her weight and her struggles, Uorfi is helping break the ‘perfect’ image of celebrities and showing that it’s okay to ask for help and work on yourself.
