Millionaire mindset: CEOs, leaders, and upper management millionaires are often seen jumping from one meeting to another. While several of them have an aspirational morning routine, from waking up at 4 AM to clocking in workouts, they hardly emphasise creating a work-life balance. But Thyrocare founder Dr A Velumani prioritised how he communicated his leadership.
In a world where connecting with someone miles away on another continent is a click away, Dr A Velumani revolutionised this channel of communication. Not in terms of technology, but how he goes about it. Shifting from voice and WhatsApp to email, he discarded the constant pinging employees face.
Why Velumani prefers emails?
In his post on X (formerly Twitter), the Thyrocare founder had explained how voice communication, be it calls or conferences, may disrupt attention, focus, and hover on the overall lack of documentation.
While calls may attract someone’s immediate attention, they also increase the scope of error or chances of a misunderstanding. Interestingly, he emphasised how emails encourage clarity, create records and respect one’s time. The documentation plays a major factor, especially during business transactions or while communicating with employees, clients or vendors.
Becoming a ‘zero-voice’ leader
This productivity hack not only saves time but conveys a leadership style that Velumani believes in. Sharing in his post, he shared how he first created an email ID in 1995, and by 2010, he had completely done away with voice calls in his professional life.
Calling himself a ‘zero-voice person’, he received the status of being an ’email-only’ millionaire. This shift, according to Velumani, contributed heavily towards maintaining scalable operations and avoiding recurring crises.
Becoming a ‘zero-voice’ leader must also come with prompt response times, crucial to sustainable growth, while ensuring accountability and momentum of a workflow. Interestingly, while calls may feel easier to some, he reiterated the importance of disciplined writing, which helps assert a message – legally, clearly, and with integrity.
