The popular YouTuber Raj Shamani and the host of the podcast Figuring Out With Raj Shamani on Spotify, has achieved a major milestone in his career. In the 2025 Spotify Wrapped Podcast list, Raj Shamani topped the chart and became the number one podcaster in India. With nearly 13.5 million YouTube subscribers, Raj took to Instagram on December 7 where he shared this milestone and how he started his journey from a small setup to a full-fledged team.

Surpassing global giants

In his Instagram post, he shared a screen grab of Spotify’s Top 10 Podcasts in India, showing his podcast at the top. “We officially became the #1 Podcast in India and here are all the podcast setups from day 1 till today,” he wrote. Raj added that he surpassed international podcasters like American Joe Rogan and British host Steven Bartlett, whose podcast Diary of a CEO also ranks highly.

“I still can’t believe that the boy from Indore beat global giants like Joe Rogan, Diary of a CEO and many more in India. And to me, more than the rank, it shows only one thing: if you are consistent and just put your head down and keep doing the work, eventually you will reach the top,” Raj wrote. He further wrote that dedication and consistency, not resources, are the key to success.

Global recognition

Raj Shamani’s podcast has now entered the top 100 podcasters globally, making it the only Indian podcast to reach this milestone. “Even after becoming #1 in India, I’m not happy because we checked the global charts, and we are ranked #76 in the world,” he added. Raj hopes that with support from listeners and the podcasting community, Indian podcasts can one day reach the global top 10.

Personality-rights protection

Apart from his podcasting success, Raj Shamani is also making headlines for seeking legal protection for his personality rights. He claimed that his name, image, voice, and online content were being misused on the internet. Last month, the Delhi High Court granted him interim protection.

However, Justice Manmeet Pritam Singh Arora raised questions about the request to block all hashtags containing his name, noting that “a broadcaster may have exclusive rights to a cricket match, but someone reporting on it can still use the match hashtag.”

Setting new benchmarks

With his podcast topping charts and legal protection underway, Raj Shamani continues to set new benchmarks for Indian content creators, showing that consistent effort and perseverance can bring international recognition.
