Jacob & Co. Vantara watch: Leading watchmaker Jacob & Co. launched a watch inspired by the Vantara Global Wildlife Rescue and Conservation Centre in Gujarat. Called ‘Vantara’, it is an ode to the sanctuary’s headliner, Anant Ambani. Reportedly worth over $1.5 million, not only is it studded with exquisite gems, but it also features an Anant Ambani figurine in the middle of the dial.
With some of the most complex machinery in the world, Anant Ambani sits at the heart of the dial. It symbolises his guardianship and responsibility toward nature. It features four moving elements on the dial, including an orb and a Bengal tiger, representing the vast wildlife diversity housed in Vantara.
397 gemstones over 21000 carats
The million-dollar watch stands out instantly with its striking green camouflage design, a visual nod to the natural world it celebrates. Lavishly adorned with demantoid garnets, tsavorites, rich green sapphires, and brilliant white diamonds, the timepiece is as much a work of art as it is a feat of engineering. In total, 397 carefully set gemstones, weighing 21.98 carats, bring depth, texture, and movement to the design.
Named Vantara, the watch goes beyond luxury for luxury’s sake. It seamlessly blends high jewellery with fine horology, turning meticulous craftsmanship into a meaningful statement. Every detail reflects a commitment to conservation, making the timepiece not just an object of admiration but a powerful tribute to nature, artistry, and responsible luxury.
A story told in miniature.
At the center of the dial, a hand-painted figurine of Anant Ambani anchors the scene, surrounded by finely detailed depictions of a lion and a Bengal tiger.

‘Can see everything but time’- Netizens troll $1.5 mn watch
Reacting to the viral design, while some connoisseurs were impressed by the exquisite craftsmanship, some even felt the watch was generated using artificial intelligence models. A netizen wrote, “I can see everything but not time in this ‘watch’,” commenting on the extravagantly maximalist design. Another user echoed the sentiment and said, “Where does it tell time?”
At the same time, some felt this was an April Fool’s prank by the brand, while others described the watch as a ‘monstrosity’. Netizens on Instagram called it a ‘failure’ as a watch but appreciated the art and jewellery perspective of the million-dollar diamond-encrusted piece.
