Courteney Cox and Matt Le Blanc, known for their roles as Monica and Joey in the famous web series ‘Friends’, have shared heartfelt tributes to their late co-star Matthew Perry, who passed away last month on October 28, at the age of 54.
Courteney Cox took to Instagram, posting a video clip of her with Perry’s character Chandler, expressing gratitude for every moment they worked together. Matt Le Blanc, who played Joey, also paid his respects on Instagram, saying, “It was an honor to call you my friend. It is with a heavy heart I say goodbye. I’ll never forget you.”
Last month, a joint statement from Friends cast members, including Jennifer Aniston, Lisa Kudrow, and David Schwimmer, described Perry’s passing as an “unfathomable loss,” emphasizing the joy and intelligence he brought to both work and life.
Matt Le Blanc was the first to share an individual tribute, posting pictures of him with Perry on set, recalling their time together as among his favorite moments in life. Cox followed, sharing a behind-the-scenes story and emphasizing Perry’s humor and kindness. She recounted a moment before shooting a scene where Perry whispered a funny line to her, showcasing his comedic nature.
In Cox’s Instagram post she said, “Chandler and Monica were supposed to have a one-night fling in London. But because of the audience’s reaction, it became the beginning of their love story. In this scene, before we started rolling, he whispered a funny line for me to say. He often did things like that. He was funny and he was kind.”
Perry’s funeral took place on November 5, attended by his Friends co-stars. Authorities are still investigating the cause of his death.
