After years of rumours, fan theories, social media sleuthing and even a “leaked” wedding invite, actors Rashmika Mandanna and Vijay Deverakonda have finally made it official. The much-loved pair has announced their wedding and in a heartfelt post, the couple said they have decided to name the celebration after the very people who kept their story alive — their fans.

In a joint message shared on Instagram, the couple revealed that their wedding will be called “The Wedding of VIROSH,” a name that has long been used by fans who combined their names into a single identity. What began as a fan-coined nickname has now become the centrepiece of their big announcement.

“Our Dearest loves… before we made any plans, before we chose anything for ourselves — you were already there,” the note read. “With full hearts, we name our coming together in your honour,” the couple’s post read.

The announcement marks the culmination of years of speculation around their relationship. The two first won audiences over with their chemistry in the 2018 Telugu blockbuster ‘Geetha Govindam’, followed by ‘Dear Comrade’ in 2019. Their on-screen pairing soon turned into a fan obsession, with followers closely tracking vacations, public appearances and subtle social media clues.

Despite consistently describing themselves as “good friends”, the buzz around their relationship never faded.

Now, with the “VIROSH” wedding officially confirmed, the couple has turned a long-running fan narrative into a real-life celebration.
