The Raja Saab Box Office Collection Day 4: Prabhas is back on the big screen, and the numbers for his latest outing, the horror-comedy The Raja Saab, are rolling in. After an explosive opening weekend that saw the film shatter the Rs 100 crore mark in India within just three days, the movie faced its first real test on Monday.
According to industry tracker Sacnilk, the film earned Rs 6.6 crore on its fourth day. This brings its total domestic collection to Rs 114.6 crore. On a global scale, the makers have announced that the worldwide gross has now reached a solid Rs 183 crore.
Raja Saab Box Office Collection Day 4: Occupancy trends and regional performance
Monday usually brings a “working day” dip, and The Raja Saab was no exception. The film recorded an overall theater occupancy of 24.64 per cent. Interestingly, the footfalls grew as the day progressed, starting at 16.20 per cent for morning shows and peaking at 30.27 per cent for night shows.
Hyderabad remains the strongest fortress for the film, maintaining a 33 per cent occupancy across 424 shows. In contrast, the Bengaluru market saw about 10.67 per cent occupancy. While the Telugu version is the primary driver, the Hindi and Tamil versions saw more modest turnouts of 7.36 per cent and 12.92 per cent, respectively.
A look at the weekend box office collections
The box office journey of The Raja Saab has seen sharp ups and downs since its release on January 9. The film started strong with Rs 9.15 crore from paid previews, followed by a massive Rs 53.75 crore on Friday, its biggest single-day collection. However, earnings dropped to Rs 26 crore on Saturday and fell further to Rs 19.1 crore on Sunday.
While the Hindi version contributed a healthy Rs 96 crore in the early days, the steep weekend fall and the expected Monday drop have become a key concern for trade experts.
The Battle for screens
The road ahead isn’t easy. In the Telugu states, Chiranjeevi’s Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu is currently putting up a massive fight, eating into the screen count. Things will get even tighter this week with two big arrivals: Ravi Teja’s Bhartha Mahasayulaku Wignyapthi on January 13 and Naveen Polishetty’s Anaganaga Oka Raju on January 14.
About The Raja Saab
Directed by Maruthi and produced by People Media Factory, the film is a departure for Prabhas. After a decade of heavy-duty action roles, this film brings back what fans call “Vintage Prabhas,” a fun, romantic, and slightly goofy version of the star.
Despite mixed reviews from critics who found the plot a bit thin, the star power of Prabhas, combined with a cast featuring Sanjay Dutt, Malavika Mohanan, and Boman Irani, is keeping the box office ringing during this competitive holiday window.
