After Dhurandhar concluded 2025 on a smashing note, it’s time to look at 2026’s stellar line-up comprising of big budget movies like Ramayana Part 1 and King.
While Agastya Nanda’s Ikkis – released on January 1 – kickstarted the year on a decent note, the best is yet to come as 2026 has some super-exciting movies in store.
Most anticipated Indian movie is…
According to IMDb, the most anticipated Indian movie of 2026 is Shah Rukh Khan‘s King. After winning his first national award for his performance in Jawan at the 71st National Film Awards, and being adjudged the richest Bollywood actor by Hurun Rich list in 2025, the actor awaits release of King, one of his most ambitious ventures.
The Red Chillies production will see journey of SRK’s character through different stages of life, giving him an opportunity to experiment with different looks. According to reports, in his younger timeline, Raghav Juyal will be his adversary while his older version will lock horns with Abhishek Bachchan. The film’s release date is yet to be locked but one may expect it in the second half of 2026.
Ranbir’s Ramayana Part 1 is the second-anticipated 2026 film

The scale, budget, and star cast are no wonder adding to the excitement of seeing the mythological film on big screen.
Other films in Top 5
Taking the third spot is Thalapathy Vijay’s swansong Jana Nayagan. The film’s original release has hit a legal roadblock and as the court verdict is awaited on its release, its fate hangs in balance.
