Epstein Files: The US Department of Justice (DOJ) released a massive trove of the Epstein Files earlier today. 3 million pages long, it has several redacted images, documents, and a series of redacted emails of the late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

From the tonnes of data released, an email exchange between the Epstein brothers references a trip to Paris with Woody Allen. Sparking speculations about their alleged friendship, the ‘Annie Hall’ maker was reportedly in Paris with Epstein in 2012.

This exchange dates back to years after he was convicted of the sex crimes, and attempted to enter the New York society. Calling the trip a ‘paedophile convention’, brother Mark Epstein joked about it with Jeffrey, who corrected him and replied, “i think pedophiles is the plural.”

Woody Allen named in Epstein Files

The American filmmaker was said to have visited Paris in March 2012, as revealed by Epstein’s email conversations with his brother. As they went on to discuss the intimate relationship of their parents, Jeffrey Epstein replied with, “Aghhhhhh.”

Mark, his brother, then questioned him where he was, to which Jeffrey replied, “Paris with Woody Allen.” In an attempt to crack a joke, Mark questioned, “For les paedophile convention?” Adding on, Epstein commented that the fact paedophile in plural would be more apt.

CBS News had previously reported that records show Allen and wife, Soon-Yi Previn, were among Epstein’s frequent social companions – especially, in the years leading up to his death. As per the newly released Epstein files, there are nearly 100 instances where Woody Allen was known to have been associated with Epstein. Moreover, on these occasions, Allen’s wife Previn was present too and often scheduled time to spend time together.

Allen on Jeffrey Epstein

The director even spoke about Epstein publicly, long before his name was mentioned in the Epstein Files. Ahead of several photos seeing the light of day, Allen revealed that he met him at a dinner party with the then-Prince Andrew in 2010. While he didn’t know him then, he called him a ‘substantial character’, as his wife and Allen observed everyone greeting him at the party.

“He told us he’d been in jail and that he had been – I can’t remember the word – but that he’d been falsely put in jail in some way,” he went on to say, describing the disgraced financer. In fact, he revealed that he and wife frequently accepted his invitations since the food was ‘sumptuous and abundant’ and ‘well served.’

Some of these images in the Epstein Files also show Epstein’s presence on one of the sets of Allen’s movies, as they appear to be talking behind the monitor. Another image showed the filmmaker seated next to the late sex offender as they raised stem glasses.
